FAQs

We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you!

We have pulled together a list of FAQs to help you better understand what precautions we are taking in light of COVID, and what we suggest you can do to help keep yourself and everyone attending safe. We will continue to update this page as more information becomes available, so please check back for updates on safety measures and events!

What we’re doing:

• We have significantly reduced the size of our wedding and we expect anywhere from 100-125 people to attend.
• We will be providing and requiring Rapid Testing regardless of vaccination status prior to any wedding related event.
• All events will be hosted outdoors, with the exception of the ceremony. However, there is ample space within the church to socially distance, and we will provide and require masks if you decide to attend. However, if you would prefer to just meet us at cocktail hour outside after the ceremony, please do!
• Face masks & hand sanitizer will be provided for all guests.
• Food will be plated vs. passed or served family style.


How you can you help:

• If you are not feeling well, please stay home. If you have had close contact with a presumed or confirmed positive case within 14 days of the event, please stay home. If you free uncomfortable traveling to attend, please stay home. Your health and the safety of others is more important than attendance at our wedding, even if it’s a last minute change of plans.
• If you have access to get vaccinated and/or tested prior to travelling regardless of symptoms, please do!
• Please RSVP as soon as you can via our website for all wedding events to give us a better idea of head count for each event so we can best prepare.
• Consider limiting nonessential contact with others leading up to the wedding weekend.


What will the weather be like this time of year?

Weather in La Quinta in late May can range from 80 – 100+. There is very limited humidity, so it will feel very different than 80 degrees in Chicago or New York. During the hottest part of the day we will be indoors for the ceremony, and it will quickly cool off as the sun drops behind the mountains. The temperature should be very comfortable by the time we are seated for dinner. For cocktail hour, while it may still be hotter, we will be in a shaded area.

Is there a dress code?

The dress code for our Ceremony and Reception is cocktail attire / semi formal. Please dress in whatever makes you most comfortable as it may be hotter during the day. The dinner portion will be on grass so keep this in mind when selecting your shoes. All other events will be on hard surfaces!

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

We will have options available to accommodate food allergies. Please send us a note prior to the wedding if you can so we can pass along to our venue. Send us a text (630-804-9206) or email (mwalsh0614@gmail.com)!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

All events will be held outdoors with the exception of the ceremony. There is ample room within the church to social distance, and we will be providing face masks for all guests. However, if you feel uncomfortable attending please feel free to meet us at cocktail hour!

Is there transportation provided to and from the hotels to the ceremony + reception?

There will be transportation provided from La Quinta Resort to the reception and back. As social distancing cannot be maintained via transportation, face masks will be required while on the bus. We will provide extra face masks for anyone who needs one.
